Print People Can Hold

October 19, 2026 · Old Craft Marketing

Most of what reaches a customer today lives on a screen. It shows up, it gets a glance, and it's gone with the next swipe.

A printed piece works differently. Somebody picks it up, and then they have to decide what to do with it. Often, they keep it.

The piece that stays on the counter

Walk into any kitchen and look at the fridge. There's a card from the plumber, a flyer for the pizza place, a postcard from the dentist. They've been there for months.

A post scrolls away in seconds. A good card sits on a desk or a counter until the day someone needs you. That's the whole point.

What to print first if you print one thing

Start with business cards, and do them right: good paper, clean type, your name and number easy to read. It's the piece you'll hand out more than any other.

After that, think about the streets you work. Door hangers or postcards put your name in front of the neighbors of the people you already serve.

Hand it to a person

Print works because it gets handed over. It's passed across a counter, left on a door, tucked into a bag with an order.

That small moment — a real thing from a real business — sticks with people.

If you've been meaning to get something printed, start with one piece. Miles can help you pick it.
